Positions

President (2 years) and Induction Chair (1 year) of UF Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society

This position has provided invaluable growth to me as a leader. I have learned to conduct orderly meetings every month, delegate tasks to my cabinet, and compose informative newsletters. My presidency has allowed me to give guidance and advice to a significant number of students, one of the most rewarding aspects of my undergraduate career.

Global Health Director of UF Premed American Medical Student Association (AMSA) (3 years)

This position provided me with a community of fellow premed students to learn from and teach. As a director, I had to provide social, service, and medical event options to a committee of members, keep a database updated with their activity points, and conduct monthly meetings. I was also chosen to be the international volunteer trip coordinator, so I gained the ability to plan and conduct week-long medical aid trips abroad.

Executive Assistant (1 year), Director of Events (1 year), and Director of Competitions (1 year) of UF Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA - PBL)

These positions represents how I can become a leader in not only premedical and academic organizations, but also in a business one. From this, I learned how to properly communicate and conduct meetings with business people, as well as computer, public speaking, hospitality, and business ethics knowledge. Continue reading below for a description of the competitive titles I earned.

Bringing Dance Marathon to Phi Eta Sigma

Raising money for the Miracle Children's Network is one of the highlights of my

undergraduate career because it combines pediatric care with immense school

spirit. Before my presidency, Phi Eta Sigma had no DM team. I made an appeal

to elect an officer dedicated to fundraising and raising awareness for this cause

that raises money for children's hospitals. In 2016-2017 we raised over $8,000

for the hospitals, this year we are on track for $5,000.

Conducting Global Health Expositions (Expo)

As a director of AMSA I am tasked with planning and implementing an influential event

every year that encompasses what my committee is about. The Global Health

Expo is a culmination of my efforts to do this, a chance for my committee members

to show what they know about health around the world. One year we focused on

health disparities, last year it was health care systems.

Phi Eta Sigma Induction Ceremony

This event required me to speak to nearly 100 freshman UF students and their parents

about the honor society and give some words of advice, encouraging the students to be

active, healthy, and happy during their time in undergraduate. Preparing for this event allowed

a lot of self reflection, making me contemplate what I would have done differently during my

undergraduate years, though I have no regrets.
